GESTEP Function

Basic Description

The Excel Gestep function tests whether a supplied number is greater than a supplied step size and returns TRUE if number ≥ step size or FALSE if number < step size

Syntax: GESTEP( number, [step] )

where the function arguments are:

number The number to be tested
An optional argument, that defines the step size that the number is to be compared to

If [step] is omitted, the default value 0 is used

Note that the function in cell A4 is the same as that in cell A3 as, if the [step] argument is omitted, it uses the default value 0.


Gestep Function Errors

If you get an error from the Excel Gestep function this is likely to be one of the following :

#VALUE! Occurs if any of the supplied arguments are non-numeric
#NAME? Occurs when Analysis ToolPak add-in is not enabled in your Excel.
